Malinda Beeman "Our founder"

Malinda Beeman’s artwork has been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, & South & Central America, & is held in numerous corporate & private collections. She has received two major Artist Awards from the National Endowment for the Arts.
A lifelong artist & educator, Beeman earned her B.A. in Graphics from San Diego State University & her M.F.A. in Printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. She went on to teach as a Professor of Printmaking at the University of Houston & served as Program Coordinator of Painting & Drawing at Anderson Ranch Art Center in Colorado.
In 2000, she founded the Marfa Studio of Arts, where she continues to serve as President of the Board & Coordinator. Lisa Chestnut

Lisa Chestnut earned her degree in Landscape Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1987, & has since worked in the private sector with firms specializing in residential, resort, & retail design. Now based in Marfa, her practice is shaped by the act of wandering & close observation. While many are drawn to the horizon, Chestnut looks downward, gathering objects left behind by human activity & transformed by wind & rain. Her sculptures are made entirely from materials collected on her daily walks & are hand-pressed in her Marfa studio. “Each piece offers a small, tangible fragment of place; an invitation to take a bit of Marfa with you.”
