Q: Can I Touch the Art?
A: We ask that visitors please do not touch the artworks. You’re encouraged to engage visually and respectfully with each piece. Some exhibits may be interactive or touch-friendly. A Gallery Assistant will be on site to let you know. If you’re unsure about a retail item, don’t hesitate to ask for assistance!
Q: Can Children Visit?
A: Absolutely! Children are always welcome; after all they’re at the heart of what MSA is all about.
We do ask that adults supervise children at all times, and remember that, unless noted otherwise, touching artwork is not permitted.
Q: Are Pets Allowed?
A: Yes! small, well-behaved pets are welcome in the gallery. In addition, all service animals trained under ADA Title III are always permitted in accordance with federal law.
Q: Can I Take Photographs?
A: Yes! Noncommercial photography is welcome. Please refrain from using flash, tripods, or large photo equipment to ensure the safety of the artwork and the comfort of other visitors.
Q: What is a 501(c)(3)?
A: Marfa Studio of Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which means we’re officially recognized as a charitable organization. Every individual donation goes directly toward our community art programs, as well as having your contribution be tax-deductible! Supporting MSA helps keep art accessible to everyone in Marfa.

A: TEKS stands for Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. It’s the set of state standards that outline what students should learn in each subject and grade level. At Marfa Studio of Arts, our SITES program aligns with TEKS to ensure art education supports students’ creative and academic development while meeting Texas education guidelines.
