FIELDS TRIPS

Founded in 2005, SITES provides high quality visual arts programming for Marfa's elementary schoolchildren ages Pre-K through sixth grade.  Art projects at each grade level are aligned with Texas curriculum guidelines known as "TEKS" (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) and are designed to support the creative, intellectual and emotional development of students.   

Many art activities and projects are developed and led by 
professional artists from the community.  Through their interaction with the SlTES artists, children learn to see art in a new way. They get
to observe and appreciate the process of making art while
​gaining the skills necessary to successfully complete projects of their own.  ​
